Steve Irwin, also known as the Crocodile
Hunter, earned fame throughout the world as a conservationist
and 
television personality.
The Internationally broadcast television show "The Crocodile
Hunter" made him famous. Many will remember his exhuberant
"Crikey" when encountering a variety of Australian
animals, such as crocodiles, snakes and lizards, as well as a
host of other animals. He spent his life introducing the world
to the animals he loved and tried to encourage a desire to respect
animals and not fear them. His early death in 2006 from a stingray's
barb was a tragic loss. The world will miss him.
