Here are nine Tyrannosaurus Rexes. These are made by several different companies. All the red-headed ones are made by Wild Republic. The sparkly ones come from the Ganz Rainforest Collection. The blue one is a retired Beanie Buddy from Ty Inc. The little green and brown one at right is from Wild Republic. And the large brown one next to him is from the Ganz Heritage Collection. One is from Dakin, but that one is retired. Check our Gift Shop to see if we have any T-Rexes for sale.

The name Tyrannosaurus (tie-RAN-oh-SAW-rus) means Tyrant Lizard. T-Rex was a theropod and a carnivore (meat-eater.) He was 46 feet long, 16 feet tall and weighed 5 tons. Fossilized skeletal remains have been found in the USA, Canada and Mongolia.

T-Rex lived during the late Cretaceous period.

Tyrannosaurus was the largest of the theropods, also known as "lizard-hipped" dinosaurs. It was a huge beast, walking about on two legs with a powerful tail and large head. It had small arms. Its mouth was full of long, curved teeth, some longer than 6 inches. It is believed that Tyrannosaurus was not able to chew, therefore it had to swallow its food whole.

Fossilized skeletal remains have been found in the USA, Canada and Mongolia. Palaeontologist Barnum Brown discovered the first almost complete Tyrannosaurus skeleton in Hell Creek, Montana, in the USA in 1902.
