Dalmatians are loyal and intelligent. They can learn many tasks. They have been sporting dogs, watchdogs, shepherds, performing dogs and have been used during wars for various tasks. They are very popular pets.
The Dalmatian is a very ancient breed. Indications of this breed have been found on Egyptian bas-reliefs. Dalmatians are about 23 inches high and weigh about 54 pounds. The base color is white with black or liver spots. Puppies are born all white. Dalmatians are good with children; they also make good watch dogs.
