These little Boxers come from Douglas Cuddle Toys, Willitts Design and Ganz.
The Boxer Sculpture is called A Breed Apart. You can find some Boxers in our Gift Shop.
Boxers were developed in 1850 in Munich by crossing the Bullenbeisser mastiff and the bulldog. They were used to hunt bears and to fight bulls. The first boxer club was founded in 1896.
These dogs are about 24 inches high and weigh from 53 to 70 pounds, depending on the sex. Males are larger. They are good natured and loyal. They can be easily trained and are good with children.
The Boxer has many uses. They can be police dogs, watch dogs, guard dogs and even guide dogs for the blind. They also make good companion dogs and are friendly and tolerant. They are suspicious of strangers. They require exercise.
Boxers are not long lived dogs, many times not reaching the age of 10.
