This is Holmes, a Beanie Baby made by Ty Inc. Holmes has all the features of a bloodhound, but the colors are a bit off. There is generally no white on this breed. But the shape and the loose folds of skin on the face and the name imply a bloodhound, so that is
how I will categorize Holmes.
The Bloodhound comes in several color variations. Some are black and tan, liver and tan or red. They are large, massive and powerful dogs, from 23 to 27 inches and weigh anywhere from 90 to 110 pounds. The skin over the forehead and cheeks is wrinkled and loose.
As the name says, these are hounds and they have a wonderful sense of scent and are used in detective work.
Bloodhounds are sensitive and reserved, timid, good natured and loveable. They do not make good guard dogs because of their good nature.
This breed is more than 1000 years old. These dogs were created by the monks of St. Hubert in Belgium.
