Easter is a holiday that commemorates Jesus Christ's resurrection and is observed with a variety of traditions. Many of the traditional observances of this holiday come from ancient rites of spring and fertility, but have been altered by early Christians to discourage any type of pagan worship. The celebration today includes sunrise services at churches worldwide. Children enjoy the activities of finding baskets that have been filled with hard-boiled colored eggs, all sorts of candies, including chocolate bunnies and marshmallow chicks.

Eggs are a symbol of rebirth. The rabbit or hare is one of the world's most fertile animals and also is a symbol of new life in the Spring.
