Webkinz Cares™ - Program Outline!
To support the Webkinz Foundation, Ganz has introduced the first full-size Webkinz pet to have the additional red Webkinz Cares™ tag. The Webkinz Cares hangtag has a special Feature Code, giving members exclusive online surprises on the Webkinz World™ site.
One of the most exciting benefits is the fact that another, randomly selected member will also receive a prize, just to celebrate the act of giving back! Ganz donates $1 from every sale of Webkinz Cares pets to Webkinz Foundation.
The Webkinz Foundation is dedicated to improving the welfare, development, health, and safety of children. Ganz feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to help others through their Foundation. Ganz believes the Webkinz Cares™ program will allow them to fund a number of important causes.
In the fall of 2007, Ganz initiated the "All About The Kids" campaign. In this program they donated Webkinz® pets and laptops to children in hospitals. The concern was for children who are bed bound and can not go to communal rooms where there might be a computer. The use of a laptop enables the child to participate in the interactive wonders of the Webkinz World® site, and spend some of their time in the hospital in a fun, enjoyable manner.
When the Webkinz Foundation was formally created, responsibility for this program was transferred there. As of May 2008, Ganz has donated over 17,000 Webkinz pets and 100 laptops to thirty-seven hospitals in the US, and seventeen hospitals in Canada. The program has recently expanded to include the donations of items to family shelters.
